Vancouver native Nigel Mack has
been described as a "triple threat,"
performing as a vocalist, guitarist
and harp player. Mack is developing
a growing reputation across the
United States as an excellent
slide guitarist who puts out some
exceptional straight ahead
blues with the feeling of bluesmen
from the past. Mack puts deep
feeling into his original songs.
Nigel Mack's talents as a blues
musician and the hard work he has
done to build his reputation
in the blues world, logging over
half a million miles across the
US, make him a Mount Helena
Music Festival "Must See".
See Magazine - Warren Footz Sept. 2002
Recently during a set at Vancouver's blues institution, the Yale Pub,
the legendary James Cotton dropped in on blues man Nigel Mack.
Initially refusing the encouragement from audience members to get
up on stage and sit in with Mack's Blues Attack (Trevor Newman
on bass and Scott Hills on drums), Cotton eventually loosened up
and helped propel the proceedings.

In addition to his skilled
musicianship, Nigel is also a
prolific songwriter,
often finding inspiration in
political and environmental issues.

(Nigel Mack's) new recognition
is well deserved. Both his slide style
and his harp work are refreshingly
un-forced, and he struts his
versatility on everything from
Willie Cobb's jaunty
"You Don't Love Me" to Elmore
James's searing "The Sky is Crying,"
as well as his own hard-driving originals.
Nelson Daily News - Lynn Welburn 2001
… high energy tunes you just can't stop yourself from dancing to.
wHRW 94.7 FM - October 1999
Absolutely amazing!! This band kept my attention riveted to the stage. The wicked slide guitar riffs and rockin' harp of Nigel Mack blew me away. I wasn't the only one impressed. Although Boomerz has no real dance floor, the crowd improvised and was dancing wherever there was room. You couldn't keep them in their seats!!
The Star Phoenix - Cam Fuller June 28, 1999
Musically, Mack and the drums-guitar-bass Blues Attack set a high standard for the three acts to follow with a crisp set of tunes that variously lamented and celebrated the twin dragons of infidelity and temptation.
On! - April 1998
Mack's slide guitar and smoking
harp have earned him rave reviews…
High Price to Play features 12
original songs by Mack, with
plenty of his masterful slide guitar
and harmonica playing, a hot
rhythm section, cool horns and
some mean Hammond organ…
Fans of the blues will not be disappointed.
Vue Magazine - Cam Hayden March 1998
One of the bright young lights on the Vancouver blues scene… this past week I got him to drop by the CKUA studios to co-host an hour of the Friday Night Blues Party and talk blues.
Vancouver Int'l Jazz Fest Guide - 1997
From Chicago to New York to his hometown of Vancouver, Canada, blues man Nigel Mack (vocals / harmonica / guitar) is a triple blues threat. Drawing rave reviews for his CD High Price to Play, his driving mixture of Chicago, delta and funk blues is wowing audiences across North America
